I became Stalin chapter 16
Episode 16
“Oh, George. I read your report carefully.”
“Sir. Please call me ‘General Marshall’.”
Roosevelt grinned and dismissed Marshall’s earnest request.
You’re always close… Marshall thought so, and pointed out a few reasons why the president might have called him. And I quickly realized why.
“About what Foreign Minister Molotov said…”
Molotov went on to say several things. The possibility of confrontation between the United States and Britain after the war, the Soviet Union’s active approach to the United States, and the Nazis’ gold.
But if Roosevelt was serious enough to call him this, he could only think of one thing.
“You can think of it as Soviet disinformation, sir.”
“Yeah, George, I feel the same way you do, but… Politicians have to think about many possibilities. And there’s too much information about Japan’s history.”
“This is ‘General Marshall’, sir.”
Roosevelt grinned and smirked again.
“If the Soviet Union leaked disinformation to us, then what was the purpose of the Soviet Union?”
Marshall had to ponder the answer for a long time.
“Do you think you can hand over such detailed information to us if it is intended to benefit Japan? Also, if Japan does not act according to this information and the Soviet Union loses our credibility, the corresponding benefit will be the loss of disinformation. can you take it?”
“Germany may have moved Japan to break the war on the eastern front. Separately, the Soviet Union alone could turn Japan’s eyes to the other side, or approach the United States this way under a secret agreement with Japan. can.”
“Selling the most classified information about your fleet? George, you hate the Soviet Union too much.”
“This is ‘General Marshall’, sir. And I do not hate the Soviet Union, sir.”
Marshall didn’t think it was necessary to think too deeply about the authenticity of the information.
Digging out information was difficult, but validating the information it received was relatively easy. Even if you try to hide such a huge plan, it’s definitely going to be revealed somewhere.
If you don’t know anything, you’re going to miss the clue or go all out to find out what it is, but given this kind of detailed information… it’s much easier to verify.
But Marshall was constantly skeptical of the Soviets’ purpose for doing this.
Why are those who dream of constantly expanding their power and globalization so actively cooperating with the United States?
Although the United States advocated for democracy’s arsenal and cooperated in Britain’s Great German War, it was a result of Roosevelt’s extensive involvement.
I don’t know how long President Roosevelt will be president, but most Americans did not want to intervene in the ‘war in Europe’. No, I’d rather be European, especially if it’s not Europe or Asia, but horrible Scythians, Bolshevik gangsters.
“America is an island, George. Since the Monroe Doctrine, we’ve been working to make this continent and island America our forecourt. It’s been successful. Britain now wants 50 junk destroyers out of the Caribbean. I promise, but we America have a clear destiny.”
Marshall has now given up on pointing out ‘General Marshall’ at all.
Roosevelt emphasized an “apparent fate”. He was well aware of American power. Many people thought that the United States was just one of the great powers, but in terms of national power, the United States has long since surpassed the world of superpowers.
So he wanted America to get a place worthy of its power in the world order.
“That’s not to say that we should build colonial empires like England or France. Colonies are horribly expensive.”
“Is that so, sir?”
“Look at the old Churchill struggling to defend the colony right now. A colony costs too much to maintain and run for what it can bring. It might seem better to take away the raw materials than to pay for it.”
Roosevelt giggled as he imitated Churchill, who nibbled in a cigar. It wasn’t just about Churchill.
Capitalists always wanted more colonies. They found wealth in the colonies, while the state tied their heads in defense of the colonies and smeared the blood of young people. Do entrepreneurs know about the country’s fiscal deficit?
“Fishing at them, maintaining the colonial security forces, and maintaining a massive administrative body and fleet… That eats up a huge budget. You’re going to get a pretty headache right now, but you’re constantly managing the colony. What if I said I had to work like you to do it? Hahahahaha”
Marshall couldn’t laugh. He respected the president as much as he trusted him. And I believed in insight.
For the white people of this era, colonization was… complex and subtle. Quite a few educated people hated colonialism.
He hated the people who lived there, and he hated the heat, endemic diseases, and barbaric customs. So he believed that he had the duty of white people and responsible for edifying them.
And others, such as Roosevelt, detested such hypocrisy even more. Those who talk of white man’s duty and Christian duty have often ignored the most fundamental stories of Jesus.
love your neighbor Is it the Christian’s job to slaughter people from other countries and exploit the crops of their lands because they have different skin tones, without even paying them a fair wage?
The United States was not immune from the same accusations. The United States also had overseas colonies such as the Philippines and Cuba, and it has been doing work that is not very different from that of the colonial empires in Central and South America.
“If you include India, the population of the British Empire is over 500 million. If you include the colonies in West Africa, France also has over 100 million. It can’t be a real power. It’s too inefficient for the cost of maintaining it.”
Roosevelt continued to unravel his theories. His views on colonization were radically different from those of idealists like Wilson.
Wilson’s national self-determinationism talked about the liberation of the colonized nation, but it was applicable only to the defeated nation. A means to tear apart multi-ethnic empires such as Austro-Hungary and Ottoman Turks.
National self-determinationism did not touch the colonies of the victorious countries, but rather, the victorious countries newly divided their territories among themselves. The doctors who lived there were ignored.
But Roosevelt had a slightly different story with him. Much closer to reality. He didn’t talk about ‘morality’ or ‘white man’s duty’. Conversely, if it was our dog, even if it was a dog, he would tolerate it.
“But our nephew Mr. Hitler is contradicting himself. By filling well-organized and industrialized land with patriotic workers, he overcame the panic and built a powerful army to shatter the bloated colonial empires. Giving it up!”
bang! Saying the word smashed, he struck the desk. Is it a coincidence that what he struck down was a British diplomatic document?
“Isn’t he trying to stick those flakes on his country? The so-called… what? George? Do you remember?”
“You mean Revensraum? Sir?”
“Oh yes. Le-ben-s-ra-um. It’s hard to pronounce. Anyway, what do you do with it? Do you want young men who have to work hard in factories to become Slavs enslaved farmers and mine supervisors? What if he himself brought down those countries?”
Marshall seemed to know something. This was essentially a matter of the country’s industrial structure.
Clash of inefficient and efficient industries. A confrontation between a huge mass of flesh called a colony and a fickle industry called intensive industry.
“It’s like… you’re talking about civil war, sir.”
“That’s right! They never work hard as long as they keep black people as slaves. They just work so as not to die. No motivation, no energy at all. But let’s pay them and make them free. They’re for this great country.” I started working! Would they have shown the patriotism and will of so many black young men who are now volunteering for our army when they were slaves?”
Why are you using such valuable manpower? Roosevelt laughed as he said that.
It was immoral, but also ineffective, to enslave potential and potential humans. It was the same with black slaves and colonists.
It was good for everyone that they were freed from servitude and worked harder. Except for the lazy colonial imperialists and greedy entrepreneurs who stick a straw in their spinal cord and suck the bone marrow. Oh, will we get rid of those who are drenched in chauvinism in the Great Empire?
“What we have to do is set. Mr. Hitler will try to break up colonial empires like England and France, and then build another colonial empire again, but General Stalin and we will be able to stop it together.”
So Roosevelt did not hate the Soviet Union. The tsar made them serfs, and the Bolsheviks made them masters of the state.
The colonial empires were wary of the rapidly growing Soviet Union, but Roosevelt did not. No, how can you be vigilant? A ‘customer’ who buys so many of our products?
Entrepreneurs probably think so too. Look at the spell and gold that Molotov was carrying.
“And when the wars in Europe are over… we will have to make the colonies a free country, a place the people love and are willing to work for their country. While they rebuild their country from the ruins, we You will be able to teach the brains you need, build and sell the factories and facilities you need, and sell all sorts of things.”
Actually, this was the point. The better the colonists live, the better the market. A country that is terribly poor and whose people are not even motivated to work is useless. But what if everyone works hard to make the country prosperous? a good market
In the meantime, colonial empires such as Britain and France have monopolized this market and made it obsolete. And they have justified this by using their national power.
But Roosevelt didn’t want to let this go any further. Although he may have despised the greedy capitalists, he could not deny their entrepreneurial spirit. Entrepreneurship was the basic idea that built America, and selling goods was good for all Americans.
It’s just a slightly different way of selling. America was not selling with guns or cannons like the old Churchill did, but wanted to make them love America.
The fat people in Congress never understood this. They loved the ‘simple’ way of making and selling gun knives, and squeezing and looting colonies. Some capitalists and bankers also liked to rip off a lot of interest by paying off huge debts, but anyway.
Since the interior of the Americas—part of Central and South America—was not yet fully grasped, everyone wanted to reach out to the whole world if given the opportunity, except for the Monroe Doctrine, which excludes interference from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.
“Looks like you’ve been holding on for too long. Let the Soviet Union send you everything it needs. I’m going to take care of convincing the idiots in Congress, especially the Taft. George, you… no, by the way, that mustache. is something?”
Marshall laughed softly. The president would point out a mustache that I started growing a few days ago while always shaving neatly.
“Ah… this mustache… heh heh… my ‘friend’ is growing a mustache.”
“Is that so? Hehe, you have friends too, yes. It’s nice to see you. Anyway, I’ve told you my intentions. It’s hard work.”
“Yes sir!”
He rubbed the bottom of his nose, where his beard was starting to grow, and he rubbed it once. When will we be able to see you again
